On March 11, 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the region and the possible role of the EU in this regard.
EU Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi stressed the role of Azerbaijan in ensuring Europe's energy security and the importance of energy cooperation in this regard.
At the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and ways to overcome the crisis in the country.
At the same time, the sides expressed their intention to conclude negotiations on a new agreement as soon as possible, which will form the legal basis of relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union, noting the cooperation with the European Union and the important issues on the agenda.
At the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
