On 9 March, the Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories of the United Kingdom, Stephen Doughty, made a phone call to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
The growing military escalation in the Middle East was the main subject of discussion between the sides.
The United Kingdom side expressed serious concern regarding the drone attack carried out by Iran against our country and emphasized that the threat directed against the civilian infrastructure of our country and the safety of the population is unacceptable.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that such actions serve to further increase tensions in the region. He noted that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the security of Azerbaijan.
During the phone call, the sides also exchanged views on issues on the agenda between the two countries, as well as on topics of bilateral and regional cooperation.
