On March 6, 2026, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Ervin Ibrahimović, held a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
During the telephone conversation, regional security issues were extensively discussed. In light of the escalating situation in the Middle East, both sides emphasized the importance of increasing diplomatic efforts and upholding respect for the norms and principles of international law.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about the drone attacks carried out on March 5 by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. It was stressed that these actions violate Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and international law.
Minister Ervin Ibrahimović strongly condemned the drone attacks against Azerbaijan, expressed concern, conveyed understanding of Azerbaijan’s position, and affirmed solidarity with our country.
During the telephone conversation, views on other issues of mutual interest were also exchanged.
