On 2 March 2026, a telephone conversation held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Hakan Fidan.
During the call, the views were exchanged on the current military-political situation in the region, the rising tensions in the Middle East, and related security risks.
The Sides emphasized that the regional escalation must not spread to a wider area and highlighted the necessity of resolving issues through diplomatic means, in accordance with the norms and principles of international law.
The ministers underscored the importance of preserving stability and security in the region, noting that the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure remains a top priority.
It was also noted that the strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Türkiye is even more significant in the context of current challenges, and that the two brotherly countries will continue close coordination.
The telephone conversation also included an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest.
