On 1 March 2026, a telephone conversation held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the conversation, the recent military clashes in the Middle East and the resulting tense security environment were the main topics of discussion.
Both sides expressed deep concern over the situation. The risks posed by the ongoing military escalation to regional stability were specifically noted, and the necessity of respecting the norms and principles of international law and resolving the conflict through dialogue and political means was emphasized.
The protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure was identified as a priority. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed condolences regarding the loss of life and injuries among civilians resulting from the clashes.
The ministers also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
