No:027/26, Press release on multilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Serbia

On 3 February 2026, in the city of Baku, multilateral political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Serbia.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiev, while the Serbian delegation was headed by State Secretary Nevena Jovanović.
During the political consultations, a detailed exchange of views took place on the foreign policy priorities of both countries in the context of changing geopolitical realities, on international and regional processes of mutual interest, and on key challenges.
The meeting also addressed cooperation between the two countries, which maintain strategic partnership relations, in political, economic, energy security, transport connectivity, climate change, and other areas within multilateral formats.
Special attention was given to developing bilateral and multilateral cooperation with leading regional and global partners, strengthening joint activities within global platforms, and providing mutual support for initiatives and candidacies in international organizations.
The sides emphasized the importance of continuing mutual support on foreign policy issues of principal importance to both countries within multilateral frameworks.
