No:022/25, Press release on the visit of Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov to Pakistan

On 23-24 January 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov paid a visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
On 23 January, the 4th round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was held in the city of Islamabad. The delegation was led by Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov from the Azerbaijani side and by Additional Secretary (Foreign Affairs) Amna Baloch from the Pakistani side.
During the consultations, a detailed exchange of views was held on cooperation in political, economic, trade, agriculture, education, culture, energy, tourism and other fields. The importance of mutual visits at various, including high levels, and their positive impact on many areas of bilateral relations were noted.
Within the framework of the discussions, the state visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan in 2024 and the bilateral agreements signed within the framework of the visit, as well as the participation of Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif in the Leaders’ Summit of COP29 held in Baku, were assessed as a new stage in the dynamic development of Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations based on friendship and brotherhood. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the high level of relations.
Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov provided detailed information on Azerbaijan’s peace agenda, the normalization process with Armenia, as well as reconstruction and restoration works and investment projects in the liberated territories.
At the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on cooperation within international platforms, regional issues and other topics of mutual interest.
Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar. During the meeting, the importance of developing strategic cooperation between the two countries, the significance of mutual high-level visits and other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
On 24 January, E. Mammadov participated and delivered remarks at the 8th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Joint Commission.
