Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov sent a letter of condolences to his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye over the terror act perpetrated in Gaziantep province on August 21, 2016.
In the letter the Minister noted: "We were deeply saddened by the news of heavy casualties as a result of a heinous terror attack. The Republic of Azerbaijan, as a country suffering from terrorism strongly became enraged by this terror attack". He also emphasized the importance of fighting against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations in a joint and resolute manner.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov extended his heartfelt condolences to the families and relatives of those who lost their lives at this terror act and wished for a speedy recovery to the wounded and expressed his solidarity with the people of Türkiye in this tragedy.
