No:736/23, Press release on the meeting of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov with representatives of the Needs Assessment Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights

On 19 December, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov met with Martina Barker-Ciganikova and Goran Petrov, representatives of the Needs Assessment Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.
During the meeting, preparations for the snap presidential election of the Republic of Azerbaijan scheduled for 7 February 2024 and international obligations in this regard were discussed.
Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov provided the other side with detailed information about the consistent, systematic and intensive steps taken to ensure that the upcoming election is held in a free, fair and transparent manner, as well as measures related to the participation of international observers in the election and ensuring the electoral rights of Azerbaijani citizens living abroad or temporarily staying in a foreign country.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
