No:693/23, Press release on the meeting between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Filip Ivanović

On 1 December 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Filip Ivanović within the framework of the 30th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation between the two countries, as well as regional security issues, were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, noting that over the past 15 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Montenegro, the two countries have established relations based on friendship and cooperation, stated that mutual visits and contacts, as well as the intensification of political consultations, have played an important role in this direction.
It was emphasized that there is potential for the further development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including economy, trade, energy security, transport, investments, tourism, education, humanitarian affairs and others, and that it is important to use the political consultations mechanism to discuss prospects for the development of relations in this direction, as well as to expand the treaty-legal framework.
Minister Filip Ivanović stated that Montenegro is interested in using the existing potential towards further developing relations with Azerbaijan, and that it is necessary to continue mutual dialogue in this direction.
During the meeting, other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
