On 29 November, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received Lounes Magramane, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, who is on a visit to our country.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on the prospects for expanding the existing friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Algeria, and the importance of political dialogue, the consultation mechanism, interparliamentary cooperation and mutual high-level visits between the two countries was emphasized.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy, agriculture, humanitarian affairs, healthcare and other areas, as well as cooperation issues in regional and multilateral formats.
The important role of the initiatives put forward during our country’s chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement in the revitalization of the Movement was commended. The importance of Algeria’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council was noted, and the importance of strengthening cooperation within the framework of international organizations was emphasized.
During the meeting, the other side was informed about the history of aggression against Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan’s vision for establishing sustainable peace in the South Caucasus region in the post-conflict period.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on new areas of cooperation and other regional issues of mutual interest.
