On 27 October, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov gave an interview to Anadolu Agency, one of Türkiye’s leading media outlets.
In the interview conducted within the framework of Anadolu Agency’s project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed his sincere congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, and stated that this date is a very important date and a source of pride not only for Türkiye, but for the entire Turkic world.
He noted that Türkiye today is a state that demonstrates its leadership to the whole world in various directions, increases the number of its strategic partners at the international level, and despite facing open external threats at certain stages of the country’s history, has overcome all these difficulties in a manner worthy of pride.
He stated that brotherly Türkiye, as one of the rare countries accepted and respected by the world’s leading power centers, today pursues a successful mediation policy at the international level.
In his interview, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov shared his views on the allied relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, which have developed rapidly in recent years and are based on the Shusha Declaration. Recalling with satisfaction that Türkiye was the first country to recognize the independence of our country, the Minister spoke about the existing historical, cultural, national and religious bonds with the brotherly country.
Referring to Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s words “One nation, two states” and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s words “Azerbaijan’s joy is our joy, and its sorrow is our sorrow,” Minister Jeyhun Bayramov particularly emphasized that the will of our peoples and the brotherly relations of our leaders stand behind the relations that have risen from the level of strategic partnership to the level of alliance, and that Türkiye’s political and moral support has always added strength to our strength.
Touching upon the importance of the Shusha Declaration in his interview, the Minister characterized the aforementioned document as a roadmap for activities in all directions between the two countries, and in this regard, spoke about important transport projects implemented and existing prospects for cooperation.
In his interview, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also touched upon issues of mutual support between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, and spoke about the active role of our countries within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, and our expanding cooperation on trilateral and quadrilateral cooperation platforms.
He expressed confidence that existing opportunities will be further expanded through the implementation of the Shusha Declaration.
