No:615/23, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with the delegation of the Council of Representatives (Parliament) of the Republic of Iraq

On 27 October 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received the delegation headed by Arshad Salihi, member of the Council of Representatives (Parliament) of the Republic of Iraq.
During the meeting, the increasing dynamism in Azerbaijan-Iraq relations in recent times was recalled with satisfaction, and in this regard, the visits of the President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq to Azerbaijan in March and July of the current year respectively, as well as the highest-level and high-level meetings held within the framework of these visits, were noted.
The importance of continuously maintaining the existing political dialogue, economic and trade relations, interparliamentary and interregional cooperation, and cultural exchanges between Azerbaijan and Iraq was discussed.
It was noted that, in addition to the existing diplomatic representations in both countries, the promotion of humanitarian exchanges through cultural centers could contribute to bringing our peoples even closer to each other.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
