On 12 September 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization, within the framework of his working visit to the Swiss Confederation.
At the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of the existing partnership between Azerbaijan and the World Intellectual Property Organization, and prospects for future cooperation in this direction were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side about the consistent reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in the field of intellectual property, as well as the notable progress of our country in international ranking indicators.
It was emphasized that the sustainable development of the economy, the formation of a knowledge-based society and investment in human capital have been identified as one of the main strategic objectives.
During the meeting, future prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Intellectual Property Organization, as well as education and training programmes in the fields of education and intellectual property, were discussed in detail.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
