On 17 August, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received Hamad bin Abdullah bin Saud bin Khudair, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to our country, on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic tenure.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed his deep gratitude to Ambassador Hamad bin Abdullah bin Saud bin Khudair for his contribution to the development of Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia relations and for his professional activities during his tenure, and wished him success in his future activities.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, energy, humanitarian and tourism fields, as well as issues of cooperation within international organizations, including the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement, were discussed. At the meeting, it was noted that political relations between Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are at an excellent level, and satisfaction was expressed with the achievements made in the development of cooperation in the economic and trade fields. Saudi Arabia’s support for our country both during the nearly 30-year occupation period and in the post-conflict period was highly appreciated.
Recalling high-level mutual official visits, the Minister referred with satisfaction to the meeting held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, as well as to his contacts with his counterpart within the framework of international events.
Ambassador Hamad bin Abdullah bin Saud bin Khudair spoke about the development of relations between the two countries and the work carried out recently. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the friendship and cooperation shown to him during his tenure in Azerbaijan.
The sides also conducted an exchange of views on regional issues of mutual interest.
