No:298/23, Press release on the election of Azerbaijan as a member of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for 2023-2025

On 31 May 2023, the 68th meeting of the Commission for Europe of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) started its work in the city of Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria. Within the framework of the said meeting, which will continue until 2 June of the current year, elections to the Executive Council of the UNWTO were held on 1 June 2023.
Azerbaijan, as a result of the highly competitive elections in which 11 countries competed for 5 vacant seats, received the highest number of votes together with Italy, Czechia, Lithuania and Bulgaria, and was elected as a member of the Executive Council of the UNWTO for 2023-2025.
We thank all states that supported Azerbaijan’s election as a member of the Executive Council of the UNWTO.
