On 7 March 2023, a meeting was held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and Mikhail Shvydkoy, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation.
At the meeting, cooperation issues between Azerbaijan and Russia in humanitarian and cultural fields, as well as regional humanitarian projects, were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information on Azerbaijan’s efforts in the field of peacebuilding in the post-conflict period and rereconstruction works in the region. It was emphasized that the increasing provocations of the Armenian side, the difficulties it creates in negotiations on the peace agreement, and steps aimed at escalating the situation in the region obstruct peace.
Special Representative Mikhail Shvydkoy particularly noted that Azerbaijan is a space of multiculturalism and the importance of international forums held in Azerbaijan, and stated that they are ready to implement joint programs in the fields of culture and humanitarian affairs.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
