No:111/23, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah

On 2 March 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who was on a visit to Azerbaijan within the framework of the Summit of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) on the fight against COVID-19.
At the meeting, the bilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Kuwait in various fields, as well as issues of interaction on multilateral platforms, were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, noting that high-level political dialogue exists between the countries, spoke about prospects for expanding cooperation between our countries in various fields. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted with satisfaction the mutual support between the countries within the framework of the UN, the NAM and the OIC.
During the meeting, activities within the framework of the “Joint Commission for Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Kuwait” were also discussed.
The Kuwaiti Minister expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s successful Chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement. Noting that relations are developing on an upward trajectory, the Minister stated that regular meetings held between the two countries serve to strengthen relations.
The sides also discussed possible prospects for cooperation in the fields of tourism, science, education, culture and other areas.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
