No:061/23, Press release on the evacuation of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan affected by the earthquake in Türkiye and on citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who lost their lives as a result of the earthquake

The evacuation process of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan affected by the devastating earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and surrounding provinces of Türkiye continues.
On 8 February 2023, 190 citizens of Azerbaijan and foreign citizens who are their close family members were sent to Azerbaijan by buses departing from Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Adana and Hatay provinces. Since the day the earthquake occurred, a total of 395 people have been sent to Azerbaijan by 9 buses so far. Of these, 183 people are already on the territory of Azerbaijan.
In addition, the evacuation of our citizens by buses departing from Gaziantep and Adana is planned, and relevant measures are being implemented for this purpose.
To date, information is available about the death of 4 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan — Bunyatova Naila Aydin gizi, born in 1980, Mammadova (Ökten) Rana Khudaverdi gizi, born in 1973, Mammadova Sevinj Eldar gizi, born in 1975, and Karli Leyla Vahid gizi, born in 1976. Contact has been established with the relatives of the deceased persons. The body of Karli Leyla Vahid gizi will be buried by her family in Türkiye, and relevant measures are being taken towards bringing the bodies of the other 3 persons to Azerbaijan.
