No:685/23, Press release on the meeting between Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden Tobias Billström

On 30 November 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden Tobias Billström within the framework of the 30th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on cooperation relations between Azerbaijan and Sweden in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as regional issues.
The importance and role of organizing mutual high-level visits and political consultations in terms of giving impetus to the development of the Azerbaijan-Sweden bilateral cooperation agenda were noted.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided information about the factors that conditioned the anti-terror measures carried out by our country within 24 hours, in particular the threats arising from the Armenian armed forces that had not been withdrawn from the territories of Azerbaijan contrary to obligations, the current regional situation, and Azerbaijan’s plans towards ensuring peace and stability in the region.
It was stated that despite Azerbaijan’s promotion of a sustainable peace agenda on the normalization of relations with Armenia, the smear campaign consistently conducted by Armenia against our country does not serve peace.
During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
