On 23 October, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi within the framework of his participation in the first ministerial meeting in the “3+3” format in Tehran.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was conducted on key issues on the agenda between Azerbaijan and Iran, existing opportunities for cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, prospects for the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization and peace process, as well as the current situation in the region.
The meetings held between the two countries in recent months and contacts within the framework of the Bilateral Economic Commission, as well as the growing dynamics of cooperation in a number of areas, were noted with satisfaction, and the importance of further expanding high-level meetings and interagency contacts was emphasized.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side that Azerbaijan restored full sovereignty over its territories after the 24-hour anti-terror measures, as well as about the steps taken on the peace agenda, and once again stated our country’s determination to establish peace and security in the region, bring lasting peace to the region, and promote regional cooperation.
