No:588/23, Press release on the results of the second stage of the examination for admission to the diplomatic service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On 23 September 2023, the State Examination Center held the part of the examination for candidates wishing to be admitted to the diplomatic service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assess foreign language knowledge in “Listening Comprehension” and “Reading Comprehension,” as well as analytical writing skills in a foreign language and Azerbaijani, while on 24 September, the speaking block of the examination was held.
140 candidates who scored more than 50% in each task block at the first stage, and more than 40% for candidates who chose Chinese, Arabic, Persian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Hebrew, were admitted to the second stage of the examination.
137 persons participated in both parts of the foreign language examination.

Candidates may also obtain information about the examination results through mobile operators (Azercell, Bakcell, Nar, Naxtel) by sending their work numbers to 7727.
Candidates who scored 50% (30 points) on the essay task performed in Azerbaijani and a total of 60% (36 points) across all components of the foreign language, with no less than 20% in each component (2 points for each of the “listening comprehension” and “speaking” skills, and 4 points for each of the “reading comprehension” and “writing” skills), are considered to have successfully passed the second stage of the written examination.
The calculation of the total score for both stages is carried out by summing the points collected for the 1st stage of the examination (maximum 120 points), the “Foreign language subject” of the 2nd stage of the examination (maximum 60 points), and the “essay” writing in Azerbaijani (maximum 60 points).
The number of participants who successfully passed both stages of the written examination and were admitted to the interview stage was 95.
In order to consider appeals related to the examination results, the SEC will organize an appeal process by telephone from 18 October 2023.
Those wishing to apply to the Appeal Commission may register by filling out the electronic application form to be posted on the SEC website from 10:00 on 13 October until 17:00 on 15 October. A maximum of 15 minutes may be allocated for discussion on the application of one candidate. The discussion process is suspended when the allocated time expires, when an outside person joins the discussion, or when the rules of ethical conduct are violated.
