No:581/23, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Jalil Abbas Jilani

On 11 October, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Jalil Abbas Jilani, who is on a visit to our country within the framework of the 27th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on strategic bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan based on mutual trust, solidarity and respect, prospects for cooperation, key issues on the agenda, and the current situation in the region.
Satisfaction was expressed with the high level of cooperation between the two countries, including the existing political dialogue, and the importance of high-level and highest-level visits, as well as contacts in all areas, including parliamentary diplomacy, was emphasized.
It was also stated that there is broad potential for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in the fields of economy, transport, trade and other areas.
During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about the latest situation in the region and the anti-terror measures carried out by Azerbaijan in order to disarm illegal Armenian armed forces and dissolve the illegal regime.
The Pakistani Minister expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the high-level organization of the next meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization in the city of Shusha, Azerbaijan.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Jalil Abbas Jilani emphasized that Pakistan supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the legitimate steps taken by Azerbaijan in its sovereign territories.
In this context, the support shown to our country during Armenia’s 30-year occupation, as well as during the 44-day Patriotic War, was highly appreciated.
During the meeting, the Ministers also held discussions on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
