No:561/23, Statement regarding the attack by Armenian radical groups against participants of the conference organized at the University of Southern California in the United States

30 September 2023 17:51

We strongly condemn and denounce the attack by Armenian radical groups on 29 September 2023 in Los Angeles, the United States, against the participants of the conference on “Türkiye’s public diplomacy,” held at the University of Southern California and jointly organized by the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and the Yunus Emre Institute.

During nearly 30 years of occupation, including the 44-day Patriotic War, as well as on the eve of the recent anti-terror measures carried out in the region, such actions taken against our country, our compatriots, as well as the brotherly Republic of Türkiye and its citizens, which are a manifestation of Armenia’s policy of ethnic hatred and intolerance, have acquired an intensive and systematic character and constitute a serious source of threat.

Such aggressive attacks by representatives of the radical Armenian diaspora, who cannot accept the failure of Armenia’s smear campaign against Azerbaijan, as well as the collapse of the illegal regime established in the region, are criminal acts and must be punished accordingly.

As exemplified by this attack, such conduct by radical Armenian groups, which contains elements of racial discrimination, hate speech and violence, must be strongly condemned by the wider international community, and relevant steps must be taken by the competent state authorities to prevent such actions.
