21 September 2023 21:00
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Zbigniew Rau within the framework of the high-level week of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two countries, as well as the current situation in the region, were discussed.
Speaking about the anti-terror measures taken by our side against illegal Armenian armed forces, which are remnants of nearly 30 years of occupation and one of the greatest obstacles to the establishment of peace and stability in the region, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that all necessary measures were taken by our side to ensure the security of Armenian residents living in the Garabagh region within the framework of the aforementioned measures.
It was emphasized that the allegations about the alleged existence of a “humanitarian crisis” and “blockade” in the region, voiced within the framework of the smear campaign carried out by Armenia in order to delay the peace process, as well as the reintegration of Armenian residents into our society, and to mislead the international community, are groundless.
It was stated that the recent implementation of the proposal to simultaneously open the Aghdam-Khankendi and Lachin-Khankendi roads, which had long been proposed and promoted by Azerbaijan, in fact demonstrated that the solution to the issue had been on the negotiating table from the very beginning, but that it had been delayed through artificial obstacles because it did not serve the interests of Armenia and the so-called regime.
During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
