No:467/23, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Croatia Davor Filipović

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Croatia Davor Filipović within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Croatia.
At the meeting, the sides conducted an exchange of views on economic and trade relations between the two countries, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the fields of energy, information technologies, tourism, pharmaceuticals, demining and other areas.
It was emphasized with satisfaction that the trade turnover between our countries reached 1 billion U.S. dollars last year, and it was noted that there are broad prospects for diversifying and strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the mentioned fields, and that it is important to increase contacts between the two countries in this direction.
The importance of holding the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on the Promotion of Economic Cooperation, including the organization of business visits by representatives of the relevant ministries in order to study and develop mutual investment opportunities in both countries, identify prospective areas of cooperation and expand ties between the business circles of the two countries, was emphasized. Croatian businesspeople were invited to benefit from the favorable business and investment environment created in our country and to actively cooperate with their counterparts from Azerbaijan, and the importance of the Alat Free Economic Zone in this direction was highlighted.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other side about the initiatives put forward by Azerbaijan towards expanding the potential of the Middle Corridor, and spoke about numerous favorable opportunities for Croatian transit operators and logistics companies to benefit from the opportunities offered by the Middle Corridor.
At the meeting, the sides also conducted discussions on areas of cooperation with Croatian companies in the post-conflict period on projects implemented towards the restoration of our liberated territories, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
