No:388/23, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Tobias Lindner, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany

On 11 July 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received Tobias Lindner, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.
At the meeting, topical issues on the bilateral, including multilateral, cooperation agenda between the two countries, as well as the regional and international situation, were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the development dynamics of relations between Azerbaijan and Germany in various fields, including political, economic, energy security, culture, education and other areas, are satisfactory, and stated that high-level visits, including political contacts, play an important role in increasing this dynamic. In this regard, the importance of the mechanism of political consultations towards discussing prospects for further expanding relations between the two countries was emphasized.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also provided the other side with detailed information about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period and the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. In this regard, it was emphasized that Armenia’s continued military-political provocations against Azerbaijan and the continuation of the mine threat are among the obstacles facing the peace process.
Minister of State Tobias Lindner, stating that there are broad opportunities for expanding the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany, noted that there are wide possibilities for the further development of cooperation in various fields, especially in the use of traditional and alternative energy sources. It was noted that Germany welcomes the efforts towards establishing peace and security in the region.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
