On 10 July 2023, a conference themed “National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan’s Foreign Policy” was held at ADA University, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” declared by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
The conference was attended by the leadership and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, honorary guests, heads of diplomatic missions of the Republic of Azerbaijan operating in foreign countries, and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the conference with an opening speech, Rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of the professional holiday of employees of the diplomatic service bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and wished our diplomats success in their activities. It was noted that holding a conference dedicated to Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder of modern and independent Azerbaijan, before the start of the meeting of the heads of our country’s diplomatic service bodies to be held in the coming days, has symbolic significance.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, who spoke later, spoke extensively about the multifaceted activity of National Leader of our people Heydar Aliyev towards protecting and developing the independence of our country. It was emphasized that our pragmatic foreign policy concept based on national interests, founded by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, is successfully continued today by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
Then, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev, in his speech, provided the conference participants with detailed information about the unparalleled services of Heydar Aliyev for the development of our country and the improvement of the welfare of our people during all periods when he led Azerbaijan.
Then the conference continued its work with a panel session dedicated to Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. The speakers of the panel session — former Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hasan Hasanov, former Head of the Secretariat of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Dilara Seyidzade, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation and former Minister of Culture Polad Bulbuloghlu, and People’s Writer of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmira Akhundova — shared their memories about National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
Within the framework of the conference, the documentary film “Trace,” produced by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and dedicated to the life and activity of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, was also shown.
