On 23 July, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received Aide to the President of the Russian Federation, Special Presidential Representative for Climate Issues and Water Resources Ruslan Edelgeriyev.
At the meeting, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in the field of combating climate change, COP-related issues, as well as regional and international topics of mutual interest, were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided information on the experience gained and the results achieved by Azerbaijan within the framework of the COP-29 Presidency, and on our country's close cooperation with host country Türkiye regarding the COP-31 Presidency.
The meeting also touched upon issues of bilateral cooperation on the Caspian Sea. In this regard, the importance of intensifying the activities of the bilateral Working Group established on the Caspian Sea was emphasized.
Noting the importance of preserving the water resources and unique ecosystem of the Caspian Sea, attention was drawn to the importance of applying innovative technologies and implementing joint projects in this direction, including in the field of agriculture.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on other bilateral issues of mutual interest.
