No: 291/26 Press Release on Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Netherlands

On 24 June, political consultations were held in The Hague between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev, while the Dutch delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcel de Vink.
During the consultations, an exchange of views was held on the current state of Azerbaijan-Netherlands relations and the prospects for their development, as well as on activities to be carried out within this framework, and regional and international issues were also reviewed.
The sides emphasized the importance of conducting mutual official visits, maintaining regular contacts, and holding meetings within the framework of international events, with a view to deepening political dialogue.
An exchange of views was held on priority areas for expanding economic cooperation. The importance of expanding cooperation in the fields of culture, science and education, with a view to strengthening people-to-people ties, was also noted.
During the consultations, information was presented on the current situation in the region, the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, and the large-scale restoration, reconstruction and demining works being carried out in the liberated territories.
The sides exchanged views on issues on the international agenda, and shared their positions on cooperation within multilateral platforms and on the mutual support of nominated candidatures.
The consultations also featured an exchange of views on other regional and international topics of mutual interest.
Within the framework of the visit, F. Rzayev also held meetings with a number of Dutch officials, and took part in a round table organized by leadinging think tanks.
