On 13 June, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Ben Black.
During the meeting, prospects for the development of Azerbaijan-U.S. multifaceted cooperation, energy, transport and transit, high technologies and investment opportunities were discussed. In addition, an exchange of views was conducted on Azerbaijan’s important role in strategic connectivity between Europe and Central Asia, port and logistics infrastructure, energy security issues, as well as regional transport projects.
The sides emphasized the special importance of the historic Washington summit held in 2025 in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the United States, and stated that the meeting created an important basis for expanding bilateral cooperation in new areas. In this context, the signing of the Strategic Partnership Charter to deepen cooperation in areas such as economy, energy, transport connectivity and high technologies, as well as security, was noted with satisfaction. The work carried out in this framework was discussed.
Within the framework of regional transport projects, issues related to the implementation of the TRIPP project, which will ensure unhindered connectivity between the main part of Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, were reviewed.
The sides also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
