No:264/26, Press release on consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand

On 11 June, the first consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand were held in Baku.

 

At the consultations, the Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department, while the Thai delegation was headed by Mungkorn Pratoomkaew, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs.

 

Within the framework of the consular consultations, the current state and development prospects of cooperation in the consular field between Azerbaijan and Thailand were reviewed, and issues of expanding the bilateral treaty-legal framework, establishing new cooperation mechanisms and strengthening the institutional foundations of mutual engagement in relevant areas were discussed.

 

The sides reviewed existing experience and advanced mechanisms in the field of evacuating citizens in crisis situations and providing them with prompt consular assistance.

 

In addition, an exchange of views was conducted on the latest innovations implemented in the consular field, including the existing experience of both countries and mechanisms applied towards the digitalization of consular services.
