No:246/26, Press release on the condition of Azerbaijani citizens as a result of the striking of ships in the Sea of Azov

As noted, immediately after the news that our citizens were killed and injured as a result of the drone attack carried out against cargo vessels in the Sea of Azov on 5 June, employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation immediately departed for the area.
Employees of the Consular Section of the Embassy are currently in the city of Yeysk and are providing relevant consular support by being alongside the injured, as well as rescued, Azerbaijani citizens. The condition of the injured is good, and several of them are expected to be discharged from the hospital shortly.
Within the framework of the search and rescue measures carried out by the relevant authorities of the Russian Federation, the identification of the persons who lost their lives and other necessary measures are continuing.
At the same time, necessary measures are being taken to carry out documentation procedures for the rescued Azerbaijani citizens, provide them with certificates of return and organize their return to the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is keeping the matter under special supervision and is carrying out close coordination with the relevant institutions.
Additional information will be provided to the public regarding the identities of the persons who lost their lives and the repatriation of their remains to our country.
