No:245/26, Press release on consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain

On 5 June, the first consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain were held in Madrid, the capital of the Kingdom of Spain.
At the consultations, the Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department, while the Spanish delegation was headed by Carolina Alvarez, Director General for Spaniards Abroad and Consular Affairs.
During the consular consultations, discussions were held on the current state and development prospects of cooperation in the consular field with Spain, which is a partner country for Azerbaijan, including the signing of new bilateral documents in this field and the digitalization of consular services.
During the negotiations, the sides reviewed the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens of the two countries, as well as prospects for multilateral and bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Spain in the fields of justice, law enforcement, prosecution, migration, education and visa policy.
