No:228/23, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with the delegation of the Caspian Policy Center of the United States

On 26 April 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the delegation of the Caspian Policy Center operating in the United States, which is visiting our country.
At the meeting, the political, economic and security situation in the Caspian region, issues and prospects of cooperation in the field of conducting research in these areas, including the current situation in the region, were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, speaking about the importance of conducting scientific-analytical research on the Caspian Sea region, of which our country is also a part, stated that Azerbaijan attaches importance to issues of cooperation with think tanks. Confidence was expressed that establishing close cooperation with think tanks operating in Azerbaijan and developing relations will contribute to the activities of the Center.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided the other side with detailed information about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the large-scale restoration and construction works carried out by Azerbaijan in the liberated territories, the steps taken towards the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, activities in advancing the peace agenda, and existing challenges.
It was emphasized that Armenia’s evasion of its obligations towards the implementation of the agreements reached poses a threat to ensuring lasting peace and security in the region and to the normalization of relations between the two countries. Information was provided about the essence of the decision on the border checkpoint established on the Lachin-Khankendi road.
At the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
