No:227/23, Press release on the evacuation of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the Republic of Sudan

In connection with the current situation in the Republic of Sudan, relevant measures are being implemented by the Government of Azerbaijan in order to ensure the security of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan permanently and temporarily residing in this country.
Currently, the evacuation of 26 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan whose locations have been identified in the Republic of Sudan is being carried out through a third country with the support of the brotherly Republic of Türkiye. Also, the documentation of our evacuated citizens who do not have valid travel documents will be ensured through the relevant diplomatic missions of our country.
In connection with the situation in the Republic of Sudan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan appeals to citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan permanently and temporarily residing in this country and recommends that they do not travel to areas where military forces are concentrated, stay in their homes or in safe places if there is no need, as well as that our citizens refrain from traveling to this country.
Our citizens living in Sudan are requested to contact the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Arab Republic of Egypt regarding evacuation or any difficulty.
