No:199/26, Press release on the visit of Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov to Ecuador

On 4-5 May, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov was on a visit to the Republic of Ecuador.
During the visit, the first political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of the Republic of Ecuador were held in the capital city of Quito.
The delegations were headed by Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov on behalf of Azerbaijan and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility Alejandro Davalos on behalf of Ecuador.
During the consultations, the current situation and development prospects of relations between the two countries in the political, economic, humanitarian, energy, culture, tourism and other fields were discussed. At the meetings, mutual support was expressed for establishing cooperation between the relevant institutions of the two countries for the future promotion of agriculture, business and investments.
At the end, the protocol of the first political consultations, as well as the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Ecuador on the exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports, were signed.
Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov delivered a presentation on “Azerbaijan’s foreign policy” at the Diplomatic Academy of Ecuador. In addition, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation gave interviews to the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador, as well as to the country’s leading online state newspaper “El Telegrafo.”
Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was also held with Azerbaijani businesspeople operating in Ecuador.
