No:129/23, Press release on the outcomes of Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov’s working visit to the Republic of India

On 3-5 March 2023, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov paid a working visit to the Republic of India to participate in the Raisina Dialogue Forum.
Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov participated and delivered a speech at the Raisina Dialogue Forum, gave an interview to Gautam Chikermane, Vice President of the “Observer Research Foundation” think tank, the main organizer of the Forum, and held bilateral meetings with Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of the Republic of India, as well as Sanjay Verma, Secretary West of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India.
Speaking at the Raisina Dialogue Forum, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov expressed great satisfaction regarding Azerbaijan’s inaugural participation in this platform, which has been held in New Delhi since 2016 and where ways to address geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges facing the international community are discussed. In this regard, it was emphasized that multilateral cooperation is more important than ever in combating global challenges during the transformation of the system of international relations. It was noted that Azerbaijan, as a responsible member of the international community, has always been committed to the global development agenda and has consistently contributed to the establishment of international peace and security.
Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov, who provided the Forum participants with detailed information about the new realities that emerged in the region in the post-conflict period and the current situation in the region, highlighted the scope of Azerbaijan’s large-scale restoration and rereconstruction works in the liberated territories. It was emphasized that despite the obstacles created by Armenia, Azerbaijan is determined to advance the peace agenda.
Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov also held bilateral meetings with Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of the Republic of India, and Sanjay Verma, Secretary West of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India.
At the meetings, an exchange of views was conducted on current issues on the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and India, including the regional situation.
The Deputy Minister informed the other side about the regional situation in the post-conflict period and Azerbaijan’s peace and reconstruction efforts.
