No:117/23, Press release on the meeting of Minister Jeyhun Bayramov with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Igor Petrishenko

On 3 March 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Igor Petrishenko, who was on a visit to our country to participate in the Summit of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement on the fight against COVID-19.
During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries. It was stated that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus, and that events dedicated to this remarkable date are planned to be held in both countries during the year.
The sides emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education, science, culture, sports and youth affairs. The sides underscored the clear necessity of developing cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Igor Petrishenko noted with satisfaction Azerbaijan’s support for the Republic of Belarus within the framework of international organizations. I. Petrishenko also noted the necessity of continuing cooperation between our countries in the fields of economy and agriculture.
At the meeting, the sides noted the existence of high-level interparliamentary relations between our countries.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on other issues of mutual interest.
