No:094/23, Press release on the meeting of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalaf Khalafov with Volodymyr Kreidenko, Head of the Ukraine-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group

On 27 February 2023, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov met with the delegation headed by Volodymyr Kreidenko, Head of the Ukraine-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, who is on a visit to our country.
During the meeting, prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, further expansion of relations in various areas of activity, as well as regional security issues were discussed.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that the existing political dialogue plays an important role in the development of relations between the two countries based on the principles of international law, including the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of international borders. The activities of the Azerbaijan-Ukraine and Ukraine-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship groups operating in the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, respectively, in expanding relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine were highly appreciated.
Deputy Minister Khalaf Khalafov also informed the other side in detail about the steps taken by our country towards the implementation of the peace agenda in the region and the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
For his part, Head of the Friendship Group Volodymyr Kreidenko expressed his gratitude to the state and people of Azerbaijan for the position of the Azerbaijani side and the humanitarian assistance provided.
At the meeting, an exchange of views was also conducted on a number of issues of mutual interest.
