On 1 March 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

 

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the current level of Azerbaijan–Slovakia bilateral relations, and the importance of combining efforts to further develop these relations and elevate them to the level of a strategic partnership was emphasized.

 

It was noted that high-level mutual visits and continuous political dialogue are of significant importance for the further development of relations between the two countries.

 

The sides expressed a shared view that high-level reciprocal visits play an important role in enriching the interstate agenda and deepening existing friendly relations.

 

An exchange of views was held on opportunities to continue Azerbaijan–Slovakia cooperation based on mutual support within international organizations.

 

The importance of increasing joint efforts by Azerbaijan and Slovakia to expand economic and trade relations, enhance cooperation in the fields of energy and renewable energy, and implement projects of mutual interest was emphasized.

 

The other side was informed about the current state and prospects of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the existing situation and recent developments in the region.

 

During the meeting, the sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
