No:067/23, Press release on the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sameh Shoukry

On 12 February, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sameh Shoukry within the framework of his working visit to Egypt.
During the meeting, the sides recalled with satisfaction the visit of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Azerbaijan in January of the current year and noted that such exchanges of high-level mutual visits are important for the development of relations.
At the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the profound importance attached to the development of historical friendship relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt and the expansion of cooperation in various fields.
Existing cooperation opportunities between our countries within the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international platforms were reviewed, and the importance of mutual support was discussed. In this regard, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted the importance of the Summit of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement on the fight against COVID-19 to be held in Baku in March.
At the meeting, Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about the initiatives of our country towards establishing peace, security and cooperation in the region in the post-conflict period. He noted that despite these efforts, Armenia continuously commits provocations and undermines the process.
The sides also conducted an exchange of views on cooperation opportunities in trade-economic, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
