Parties were pleased with superior development of bilateral relations and stated that this partnership should spread into economic, humanitarian and cultural sphere. The sides were also satisfied with recently-held forum on business relations. Minister Virayuda stressed out the significance of mutual visits and invited both President Ilham Aliyev and Minister Elmar Mammadyarov to Indonesia on behalf of the Indonesian leadership.

Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Hasan Virayuda, Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Virayuda stressed out the significance of mutual visits and invited both President Ilham Aliyev and Minister Elmar Mammadyarov to Indonesia on behalf of the Indonesian leadership.

Minister Mammadyarov talked about the significant role of Indonesia both internationally and in the Islamic world, valued the position and support of Indonesia on Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the UN Resolution on “The Situation on the Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan”.

Issues concerning partnership among the diplomatic academies, strengthening the consultations among the ministries, common efforts on development of the non-oil sector were discussed during the meeting. The sides also agreed on 3 Azerbaijani students to study in Indonesia and Minister Mamadyarov offered Indonesian diplomats to attend the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.

Parties signed agreements on Economic and Technical Cooperation, and on Visa Exemption for Diplomatic and Service Passports, at the end of the meeting.

Indonesian Minister stated at the press conference that his country supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
